Umran Malik, a fast pace bowler, recently rose to fame in Tata IPL 2022. He owned the bowling counterpart after consistently bowling at a speed of 150 km per hour. Malik from Kashmir also bowled the fastest ball in IPL 2022 at 157 km per hour and broke his records to achieve the milestone.

Malik, was drafted into the Indian team against South Africa for five T20I games home series. He will be a crucial player as bowling will be the key to winning this series. Both the teams are perfecting their bowling counterparts for a victory. Umran will be playing for India for the first time in his career. The first match of the India tour of South Africa will be on 9th June at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Recently speaking to ANI, Australian bowler Brett Lee compared Umran to Pakistani player Waqar Yunis for his fast bowling. Malik replied to this statement by mentioning his bowling idols, “I have not followed Waqar Younis. I have a natural action. My idols include Bumrah, Shami, and Bhuvaneshwar Bhai. I used to follow them when I was playing while coming through the ranks,” Malik told Indian Express. “There’s no point getting carried away. If it is destined to happen, it will Inshallah. I want to do my best for my country. I have got an opportunity in these five matches. My goal will be that we win all five matches, I perform well and single-handedly win those games for India.” Umran on his inclusion in the India team.
