Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra creates yet another feat for India. He achieved his and India’s first ever Diamond League Final Title. Chopra made a fabulous comeback after a groin injury sustained nearly a month back. He missed out on the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
Neeraj Chopra’s throw at the Diamond League began with a foul. With a rethrow, he immediately jumped to the top position after covering a distance of 88.44 meters. It was his fourth-best throw of the career in just the second attempt. It was enough to determine him to win the title. No one came close to Chopra with their throw.

He registered his other throws at a distance of 88m, 86.11m, 87m, and 83.60m in the remaining throw. The other contestant didn’t even come close to his second throw. Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic finished second with his best throw being 86.94m. Germany’s Julian Weber achieved 83.73m and came third.
Neeraj Chopra broke the National record twice this year. He won the Olympic gold medal, Paavo Nurmi games, is the current World Championships 2022 silver medalist and is now the Diamond League winner. He achieved this feat in just a year and a month since his Olympics victory.
