'My Road to Recovery Has Begun' KL Rahul Completes a Successful Surgery in Germany

Indian opener and the vice-captain is now out of the danger, after having a successful surgery for his injury. KL Rahul suffered an injury before the Indians played their five-match T20I home series against South Africa. He was named the captain of India after Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah headed to England for their test match.

Rahul was supposed to join them in the test match against England, which will be on 1st July. Sadly due to his injury, he didn’t lead the team against South Africa, driving Rishabh Pant to take over as the captain. He was also missed as a captain on England tour after Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid-19 and probably won’t be attending the game.

KL Rahul has a severe injury for which he traveled to Germany for specialized treatment. Reports declared a surgery to be conducted to get it right and fully recover. He yesterday stated that his surgery went successfully with no complications. KL tweeted on his Twitter handle, “Hello everyone. It’s been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I’m healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your message and prayers. See you soon.”

With Rahul out of the picture against England and Rohit under isolation, Jasprit Bumrah will likely lead the Indian team in the fifth and the final test match against England. Once Sharma recovers, he will take over the captaincy position, and India will play T20Is and ODIs following the Test.
