Two times Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is having a good time at the Malaysia Open 2022 after showing poor performance in the Indonesia Open earlier this month. She failed to qualify for the second round in Indonesia, and proceeded into the quarterfinals at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

PV Sindhu won the match after playing a very challenging game. HS Prannoy and Sindhu won the second round but with contrasting performances. PV Sindhu struggled to win the game but still prevailed in the end. She played the second round against Thailand’s Phittayaporn Chaiwan and qualified for the quarterfinals.

In the first set of the second round, the Indian shuttler struggled to gain the upper hand. The Thai player won the first round after she played an aggressive game by 19-21. In the second set, World No.7 turned the tables and took the lead against Chaiwan. She won the second game by a massive margin after pulling her opponent back on the ground by 21-9.

Both players played the final tie-breaker set, making the entire match fifty-seven minutes long. PV Sindhu again took the lead and stayed two steps ahead of her opposite, winning the game by 21-14. The Indian badminton icon won the game with a good performance, and she will play her next round against Chinese Taipei Tai Tzu Ying.
