Malaysia Masters 2022 HS Prannoy Heads to Quarter-Finals, Beats Wang Tzu-Wei

HS Prannoy played the second round of the Malaysia Masters and successfully entered the quarterfinals of the series. Prannoy is having a good year, after the Thomas Cup victory, he went to the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open, where he was the only Indian at that stage. In the Malaysia Open, he exited in the semi-finals.

He may be having a good year, but apart from the Thomas Cup, he hasn’t entered any finals. Hopefully, this will be the series where India shines. Prannoy went against Wang Tzu-Wei of Taiwan. He dominated every game of this tournament to reach the quarterfinals. He barely sweats during his round against the Taiwanese.

HS Prannoy

In the first set, the game was competitive as both the players went back and forth with their points. The Indian player did get an upper hand after getting two points ahead of Tzu-Wei. Prannoy won the first game by 21-19. In the second set, there was no stopping for the 29-year-old Indian shuttler as he continued raining the shuttle on the opposite side. HS Prannoy won the round by 21-19 and 21-16.

PV Sindhu

PV Sindhu also entered the quarter-finals ahead of Prannoy’s game. Sai Praneeth and Parupalli exit the tournaments, after losing their second-round to respective opponents.
