Lucknow Super Giants played the eliminator match of IPL 2022 with Royal Challenger Bangalore yesterday on 25th May. The game was at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 7:30 pm IST. It was a tough match due to both teams’ need to win and unstable weather conditions. Bangalore emerged victoriously and beat Lucknow by fourteen runs. RCB batted the first innings, where Rajat Patidar smashed 112 runs in fifty-four balls, and Dinesh Karthik made thirty-seven runs. Josh Hazlewood took three wickets, Mohammed Siraj, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel took one wicket.
Lucknow batted in the second innings, where KL Rahul scored seventy-nine runs, and Deepak Hooda made forty-five runs. Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Krunal Pandya, and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket.

LSG vs RCB: Man of the Match, Eliminator Match, IPL 2022
Rajat Patidar from RCB was titled the Man of the Match for his incredible 112 runs in 54 balls. Patidar stated in the post-match interview, “Whatever I’ve done from the beginning, I’ve timed the ball well. When it was the fifth over, I was facing Krunal Pandya, I executed my plans perfectly, and from there I knew I could play a good inning today. I was just focused on capitalizing on the opportunity and timing my shots well. I was never under pressure cause I know I have ability. I was keeping myself busy and was focussing.”

LSG vs RCB: Winning Captain Interview, Eliminator Match, IPL 2022
Faf du Plessis led the winning team RCB, in the eliminator match against LSG. He said in a post-match interview, “Today was a special day. The Guys put in a really good performance. The way that Rajat played, I’m over the moon. The way he played, to put up an innings like that, and the way he celebrated his 100, says he got a good head on his shoulders – a special player. He’s got all the shots. The way that he attacks. Every time we’re under pressure, he comes and flicks the switch. Special innings. We’re going to celebrate with him tonight. I know we have a match in two days, but this is special and we’ll celebrate tonight. We played a good game today. Quite a high emotion after that game (MI vs DC). It was important as a team that we calmed down a little bit for the match. It didn’t feel like it was a big game, everyone was nice and calm. (Harshal Patel) He’s the joker in the pack.
