Gujarat Titans faced Lucknow Super Giants in the 57th match of Tata IPL 2022. Shubhman Gill reveals him having back issues during the game.
GT won the toss, and Hardik Pandya decided for their team to bat first. Shubman Gill made sixty-three runs in forty-nine balls for the titans. GT ended the first inning with 144 runs, giving LSG a target of 145 runs in twenty overs. It was rather exceptional batting from Shubhman and bowling from Rashid Khan that got the victory to GT. LSG lost the match by sixty-two runs to the titans.

Twenty-two-year-old Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Match due to his outstanding batting in the game. The right-handed batsman was the highest scorer of the round. Gill revealed after the match that he suffered from back issues and mentioned the challenges he faced physically and mentally.

Shubman said, “ Always pleasing when you’re there till the end and finish the game for your team. I didn’t expect the ball to seam as much at the start. It was nipping around, and then I expected the spinners to get some turn. I think they didn’t bowl up much. Had Krunal pitched it up, it would have been tougher” “ It helped us turn the singles over. Not a lot of people gave us a chance at the start, but great to qualify now. The ground was soft, and I had a bit of back issues, but hopefully, it would all be fine.” He further added.
