Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who once were on top of the food chain and ruling the IPL most of the season, are now the lowest-scoring teams in IPL 2022. MI has the most IPL trophies, followed by CSK in the second rank. IPL 2022 has seen a twist as Mumbai and Chennai were immediately thrown off their throne and replaced by the newly formed team Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. MI and CSK are considered arch-rivals throughout the IPL, regardless of the season. Both have a massive fan following supporting the teams.

Both the team’s fans are disappointed by the performance and are sure that they might not enter the playoffs. It will be the worst season for both CSK and MI as, both only managed to win a fraction of the total games played. CSK will face MI on 12th May for the second time in Tata IPL 2022. Chennai previously won the match and defeated Mumbai by three wickets.

Though CSK isn’t playing to their potential, they still might have a chance to qualify and enter the playoffs. If Chennai managed to win today’s match and two more, they might have a possibility of qualifying. CSK has won four out of eleven games played. If Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, each with 14 points managed to reach 16 points then CSK won’t qualify. Considering the unpredictable nature of qualifying rounds, it is not guaranteed that both will win a match. Chennai may have a chance to entitle to the playoffs.
