Virat Kohli makes history as he becomes the first-ever player in the Indian Premier League to score 6500 runs in the league. Kohli, who is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and their former captain, has achieved this milestone in his last match against Punjab Kings. He is the only player who hasn’t changed his team since the start of the league in 2008. Virat has been loyal to RCB for more than a decade. He scored twenty runs against PBKS which was enough to achieve the score.

This season Virat Kohli’s performance was quite talked about and not in a good way. His game hasn’t been strong this season of IPL 2022 and hasn’t scored any significant runs. Compared to his earlier IPL season performance, he isn’t himself then Kohli, who used to thrash many bowlers who came in front of him. He has been a consistent performer since the last season and has helped him achieve these incredible 6500 runs. Virat’s bad performance this season also didn’t stop him from reaching such heights.Â

In 2016 Kohli scored 973 runs for the entire season, which is way higher compared to Orange cap holder Jos Buttler this season. He consistently scored 500 above-average runs for most of the seasons. His five-time single-digit score had slowed him down but couldn’t stop him. Shikhar Dhawan from PBKS is next in the line, with 6186 runs, and they both are the only players with six thousand plus runs in the Indian Premier League.
