Royal Challengers Bangalore played the eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants yesterday on 25th May. The game was held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 7:30 pm.
Both the teams played to enter the second qualifiers. The team losing the match will be eliminated from the Tata IPL 2022. RCB and LSG went head to head yesterday, beat Lucknow, and threw them out of this season.
The match got delayed due to rain, and Bangalore got a risky start. Lucknow won the toss and opted for bowling first, as the pitch was wet and not for batting.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Eliminator Match
1st Innings:
Virat Kohli opened along with Captain Faf du Plessis and played poorly. Kohli scored twenty-five runs, whereas du Plessis got out on the first ball. Plessis was the star player of the previous match, but his performance disappointed the fans yesterday.
Rajat Patidar replaced the Captain and started raining shots on the boundaries. Patidar was hitting non-stop and took twelve fours and seven sixes for RCB. He was like an untamable horse, shooting left and right. Rajat never ended his thrashing till the last ball in the innings and made 112 runs in just fifty-four balls, not out.
Glen Maxwell, another key player, returned to the pavilion with just nine runs. Mahipal Lomror also made only fourteen runs. Dinesh Karthik managed to play till the end with Patidar, making thirty-seven runs.
RCB gave LSG a target of 207 runs.

2nd Innings:
Mohammed Siraj took the first wicket of Quinton de Kock and unstabilized Lucknow.
Josh Hazlewood bagged three wickets of KL Rahul, Manan Vohra, and Krunal Pandya.
They were influential wickets and led the team to victory. Harshal Patel also sent Marcus Stoinis back to the dressing room.
Lucknow Super Giants Eliminator Match
1st Innings:
Avesh Khan took a crucial wicket of Kohli, whereas Mohsin Khan bowled fabulously and knocked du Plessis off the ground.
Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi sent Maxwell and Lomror back to pavilions.
2nd Innings:
Quinton de Kock opened with captain KL Rahul. De Kock failed to score any significant runs before heading back and only got one six. Rahul played well and lessened the score difference with his seventy-nine runs.
Deepak Hooda also played well and scored forty-five runs. Marcus Stoinis, Evin Lewis, and Dushmantha Chameera made nine, two, and eleven runs.
LSG failed to cross the target and lost the game by 14 runs.
It was an intriguing game played by both teams. Rajat Patidar got RCB to win and made the fastest century in IPL 2022.
