The Indonesia Open 2022 is presently going on in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is the second championship the nation has hosted after Asia Cup Hockey. The games will begin on 14th June, Tuesday at Istora Gelora Bung Karno arena in Jakarta. Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen lost their respective positions and were eliminated. It ended India’s challenge in the series 500 tournament on Friday, 10th June.

Indonesia Open 2022: PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen End the Indian challenge in Singles

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu played her eliminator game against her foe Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand. The 27-year-old Indian played with both attack and defense, scoring back and forth. Thai won the first set after defeating the Indian shuttler after playing a good game and ending in 12-21. PV Sindhu was the last hope for India to show the nation’s presence at Indonesia Open 2022. She also lost the second set against Intanon by 10-21. The struggle lasted for one hour ending in the Thai player winning.

Lakshya Sen

Indian young star Lakshya Sen lost his game to Chinese Taipei player Chou Tien Chen. He was his rival from the Thomas Cup 2022 group stage. The Chinese player played two games with Sen, winning both. Lakshya became the first to be eliminated from series 500 representing India. Chou won the first set by going back and forth with attacks and ending in 16-21. India made a comeback in the second set, and Lakshya got the lead, winning the round by 21-12. Similar to their previous encounter, the Chinese also took this set home after winning by 14-21.

PV Sindhu

India lost their place in Indonesia Open 2022 in singles games. Though both the Indian players shuttled well but had bad luck on their side.
