India is still going on in the Indonesia Open 2022. It was a horrible start for the Indian players, as they one by one, keep getting disqualified from the game. Saina Nehwal failed to qualify in the Open, leaving the Women’s team one person short. Two times Olympic winner PV Sindhu also lost the first round of the tournament, ending the Indian women’s representation in Singles.

The Men also failed to stick with Sai Praneeth shown the exit door. Kidambi Srikant also failed to secure his position for the next round. Adding to the disappointment, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen stood against each other, where Prannoy emerged victorious.Â

HS Prannoy played his second round of the Indonesia Open 2022 on 16th June at Isotara stadium. He played against Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong. HS Prannoy ranked World No. 23 and Long Angus World No.13. Prannoy played the first set against Hong Kong’s champion and won by 21-11. The second set brought some more points to Angus’s side but wasn’t enough to stop the young Indian star. HS Prannoy won the second round of Indonesia Open 2022 by 21-11 and 21-18.

He left the fans shocked as the top Indian players failed to establish themselves but Prannoy easily slid through the crowd. He hardly broke any sweat to defeat World No. 13. The Indian shuttler will next face anyone from Rasmus Gemke and Brice Leverdez in the quarter-finals.
