Indonesia Open 2022: India establishes their presence in the Indonesia Open 2022 after passing through the first and second rounds and the quarter-finals. It was a difficult opening for India as the players were getting disqualified every other day. The women’s team suffered heavily after Saina Nehwal failed to qualify for the tournament, and PV Sindhu lost the first match of the Open. The representation of Indian women ceased in the single’s round.

The Men’s singles also suffered quite a loss after Sai Praneet lost in the first round. HS Prannoy, and Lakshya Sen were against each other. HS Prannoy succeeded in the stages and is skipping to victory. He easily won his games without breaking any sweat. Prannoy will represent India in the Men’s Singles Semi-finals on 18th June.

HS Prannoy played the quarter-finals against Rasmus Gemke of Denmark on 17th June at Istora. World No. 23 reached the prestigious Indonesia Open Super 1000 after defeating the Danish player. Both played the first set, where the Indian shuttler gained a lead against World No.13 and won by 21-14. The second set was no different as Gemke failed to score and lost to the Indian by 21-12.

Indonesia Open 2022: HS Prannoy Enters Semi-Finals After Beating Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke

Prannoy rose victorious and secured his place in the semi-finals. He wonderfully advanced in the tournament without having a hard time. HS had previously defeated Gemke at Thomas Cup singles. The Indian will face Zhao Jun Peng of China in the semi-finals.
