Indonesia Open 2022: India made their presence till the Men’s Singles semi-finals after a terrible start. India failed to gain any victory in the Indonesia Open 2022 before HS Prannoy entered the arena. He played his first game against Thomas Cup teammate Lakshya Sen and won with flying colors. In his second round against Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus, he won the game without breaking any sweat. To enter the quarter-finals Prannoy faced Rasmus Gemke of Denmark and won.

HS Prannoy reached the semi-finals with flying colors. He played the semis against China’s Zhao Jun Peng and lost the game. Prannoy gave India hope of receiving the Super 1000 title in Indonesia with his impressive performance. But he lost the game and was brought down by his feet. It was the second time HS Prannoy had reached the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open, but this time he failed to qualify for the further round.

Indonesia Open 2022: HS Prannoy Crashes Out in Semi-finals After the Loss Against Zhao Jun Peng
World No.23 Prannoy played the first set against Jun Peng but failed to assert control. He was forced to play back foot and had no chance to gain precision. Prannoy lost the stage by 16-21 to a two-time World Junior Championship bronze medallist. The second set was no different, the Chinese player dominated the game and hardly let the Indian score. HS Prannoy lost the second set and the semi-finals by 15-21.

Both the players ended the game in forty minutes. The Chinese player entered the finals and will face Viktor Axelsen.
