India recently completed their test series against England on 5th July. India will continue with their England tour with three T20Is and three ODIs. Earlier in the first couple days of June, BCCI announced the West Indies tour on which the Indian team will embark after they complete their series with England.

India and West Indies will play their first match of the series on 22nd July, a couple of days after the series ends in England. BCCI announced a 16 players squad on 6th July that will embark on their journey to the West Indies. Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah won’t be playing the game as they will be on a rest break. India will see a new captain, Shikhar Dhawan.

Rishabh Pant, led in the T20I series against South Africa last month, will also be on rest during the West Indies ODI. Hardik Pandya will also be off-limits in the ODI squad, he very recently won India the two-game T20I series in Ireland. The BCCI opted for veteran opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan as the captain for three ODI games. Ravindra Jadeja, who led CSK in IPL 2022, will be the vice-captain.

Indian Squad for ODI in India vs West Indies Tour
Shikhar Dhawan(C), Ravindra Jadeja(VC), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan(WK), Sanju Samson(WK), Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Mohd Siraj, Arshdeep Singh.
India and West Indies will play on 22nd July, 24th July, and 29th July. The matches will be played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, and Trinidad.
