India vs England Rohit Sharma Creates Huge T20I Captaincy Record with India’s Victory Over England

India and England played their first T20I match yesterday on 7th July, Thursday. The game was at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton. India recently played their final test match against England from 1st July to 5th July. Both the countries will play three T20Is and three ODIs ending England tour on 24th July.

Rohit Sharma returned as the captain of the Indian team after he missed the test series due to covid-19. Sharma led the team to victory, he opened and scored 24 runs, whereas Hardik Pandya made 51 runs and took four wickets. Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav got 33 and 39 runs. Sharma created a new record for the Indian cricket team.

Rohit Sharma became the first ever to captain the Indian team and win 13 consecutive T20I matches. Sharma registered his thirteenth victory after yesterday’s win against England. He will surely increase the numbers with more wins in the upcoming matches against England. The Indian skipper led the team with a victory of over 50 runs.

The series of consecutive victories started from the Bangladesh series before India defeated New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and now England. Sharma became the captain of the Indian team after Virat Kohli stepped down from the position of captain in January this year. Sharma was preparing for the England series, so Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya became the captains for the South Africa and Ireland series.
