India vs England Rishabh Pant Jumps Ahead of VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir in the List of Most Runs by Indian Batters Against England

India started their fourth day of the test against England today on 4th July. India was at the lead of 257 runs yesterday, which has increased after the second innings today. In the first innings, India ended at 416 runs after a good performance by Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.  England scored 284 runs in their first innings, 132 runs behind at the start.

Rishabh Pant

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant scored 146 runs against England on 1st July on day one at Edgbaston. He smashed 19 boundaries and four sixes in a span of 111 balls. In the second innings, he ended with 57 runs. Rishabh Pant has also been the captain of India in the recent T20I series against South Africa. The wicket-keeper batsman also raised his rank to the highest score in international test cricket.

VVS Laxman

Rishabh Pant overtook legends like VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir in the list all due to his excellent performance. Pant has made 203 in this game alone which totaled his score to 781 runs. VVS Laxman had 766 runs in 17 tests, and Gautam Gambhir scored 768 runs in 12 test matches. Pant had scored his bit in just 12 tests against England.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is leading the list with 2535 runs in 35 tests against England. He is followed by Sunil Gavaskar in the second position at 2483 runs in 38 tests and Virat Kohli in third at 1991 runs in 28 tests.
