India and England played their first T20I match yesterday on 7th July at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton. It was followed by the final test match between the countries after the test series ended in a draw. There will be three T20I in total and then three ODIs.
India played well in their first T20 against England. Rohit Sharma returned as the captain after contracting covid but now is well and healthy. India won the toss and decided to bat first. Rohit Sharma scored 24 runs, whereas Deepak Hooda, and Suryakumar Yadav made 33 and 39 runs. Hardik Pandya played exceptionally and smashed a half century. India made 198 runs in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya took four wickets, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each.

England entered the field in the second innings. Dawid Malan and Harry Brook scored 21 and 28 runs. Moeen Ali scored 36 runs along with Chris Jordan, who got 26 runs. Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan took two wickets. Reece Topley, Matt Parkinson and Tymal Mills took a wicket each.

India won the match by 50 runs; they bowled out England at 19th over. The second T20I will be on 9th July, at Edgbaston.
