India started their fifth and final test match against England on 1st July on a Friday at Edgbaston in Birmingham. In the previous four games, the first match ended in a draw, and out of three games, two ended in the favor of the Indian team. England won the toss and chose to bowl first, letting the men in blue bat first.
India played a slow start by losing wickets. Rishabh Pant scored a massive 146 runs on the first day, and Ravindra Jadeja completed his century by the second day. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah took everyone by surprise after showing an incredible batting performance, which no one expected.Â

Jasprit Bumrah scored 35 runs in a whopping six balls. People were reminded of Yuvraj Singh’s six-ball six 6s. Bumrah unknowingly broke a world record of cricket icon Brian Lara of the highest run in an over ever. Bumrah took four boundaries and two sixes in the over. Bumrah gained appreciation due to him being a bowler and still shattering the world record.

India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah Set Another Record-Breaking Feat on the 2nd Day of the 5th Test
He was also appreciated for his bowling as he took three wickets back to back. In the combined five games, Bumrah has also been the highest wicket-taker, against England with 21 wickets. He surpassed the total of 19 wickets by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 2014 series against England. Jasprit is known for his consistent performance since the series started in 2021.
