Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar will replace Deepak Chahar in the remaining games against South Africa. India and South Africa are playing a three-match ODI series. The opposition is leading by winning the first game between the two teams. South Africa won by nine runs in the first game after India failed to chase down the target.

Deepak Chahar is ruled out of the series due to an injury. He had stiffness in his back, leading him to perform inadequately. The BCCI announced the news about Chahar and stated that, he is in the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for recovery. Washington Sundar will be taking his place in the upcoming matches.

Chahar’s health and well-being are essential as he is also picked for the T20 World Cup squad. Deepak is a standby player for the team, and with Jasprit Bumrah absent, he may be the replacement. Chahar is presently monitored by the medical team.

India will play their second ODI match against South Africa on 9th October, Sunday. It will be a crucial match, as India has to win to get the odds in their favor. If the opposing team wins round, India will lose the ODI series. Next year is the 50-over World Cup, and India needs to be prepared.
