IND vs SA: India played their third match against South Africa yesterday, 14th June at ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. It was a remarkable game played by both the countries, especially India. It was the third out of five matches of T20 International, hosted by India at home. The first two games were disappointing for Indian fans as they lost both games with awful bowling performances. India made their comeback and swept the South African team off the floor. 

India won the game despite being in the unfortunate situation of batting first. The team finally caught up to their bowling game and won the match. It was an easy victory for India once they gave a good target and exceptional bowling performance. Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel were the stars of the match for taking crucial wickets throughout the game.

IND vs SA: Match Highlights, 3rd T20I

South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first.

1st Inning:

India:

IND vs SA: Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel – 3rd T20I

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan gave a smashing opening to the Indian team. Gaikwad scored fifty-seven runs, whereas Kishan made fifty-four runs. It was an excellent nine overs long partnership between the two.

Shreyas Iyer wasn’t at his best today and scored fourteen runs, including two sixes.

Captain Rishabh Pant only made six runs off eight balls and again failed to score.

Hardik Pandya made thirty-one runs and played till the final ball of the innings.

Dinesh Karthik didn’t perform well and made mere six runs.

Axar Patel also played till the last ball and scored five runs in two balls.

India gave South Africa a target of 179 runs.

South Africa:

Keshav Maharaj got the first wicket of the match where he bowled and caught Ruturaj Gaikwad out in the 9th over.

Tabraiz Shamsi got Shreyas Iyer caught out with the help of Anrich Nortje in the 12th over.

Ishan Kishan was shown the exit by Dwaine Pretorius in the 13th over with an incredible catch by Reeza Hendricks. He also took Rishabh Pant’s wicket by a catch by Temba Bavuma.

Kagiso Rabada took the wicket of Dinesh Karthik with a catch by Wayne Parnell.

2nd Innings:

South Africa:

IND vs SA: Rassie van der Dussen – 3rd T20I

Captain Temba Bavuma and Reeza Hendricks opened for South Africa, where both scored eight and twenty-three runs.

Dwaine Pretorius scored twenty runs with two boundaries and a six. 

Rassie van der Dussen wasn’t performing well and scored a single run.

Heinrich Klassen scored low compared to his previous performance and made twenty-nine runs.

David Miller scored three runs in five balls before returning to the stands.

Wayne Parnell made twenty-two runs for his team and played till the end.

Kagiso Rabada scored just nine runs in eight balls, including one boundary.

Keshav Maharaj also played eight balls and made eleven runs, hitting one six.

Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi played only a single ball and made no runs.

India:

Axar Patel took the wicket of Temba Bavuma in the 3rd over, with the catch of Avesh Khan.

Harshal Patel took four wickets for India, Reeza Hendricks in the 5th over, David Miller in the 10th over, Kagiso Rabada in 16th over, and Tabraiz Shamsi in the 19th over.

Yuzvendra Chahal got three wickets, first of Rassie van der Dussem in 6th over, second of Dwaine Pretorius in 8th over and Heinrich Klassen in the 14th over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the wicket of Keshav Maharaj, and Rishabh Pant also ran out Anrich Nortje in the 18th over.

India defended their target of 179 runs with an incredible bowling performance and won the game by forty-eight runs.
