IND vs IRE: The Indian team is set to play multiple series, leaping from one country to another. Presently India is playing the five T20I home series against South Africa. Ireland is next on India’s list after completing the ongoing series. India vs Ireland is scheduled for 26th June and will play a two-match T20 International.

The BCCI recently announced a seventeen-player squad against Ireland. Hardik Pandya is named captain, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as vice-captain. It will be the first time Pandya will lead the Indian National team. He was on a break from the Indian team after a poor performance in ICC T20I World Cup last year due to health issues. Pandya made a comeback in IPL 2022 and led a new team, Gujarat Titans, winning the IPL trophy.

Pandya was excited about being captain and spoke to Star Sports about it. He mentioned,“ I knew at the start of the series. Obviously, it’s always an honor to lead your country. Who would have thought seven months back? Life changes. It can change a lot if you have the right mind and keep working hard.”

Pandya also mentioned his long break from international cricket and said, “When I took a break from cricket, I decided that whenever I return, I will come back with my best version. The byproduct that came with it, we became champions, and I got the vice-captaincy of the Indian team, it is all a byproduct of the process that I follow.” “ When I look back at how I was six months ago and how I am six months later… My life can’t take a bigger U-turn than this.” Pandya added, comparing his past performance to the present.
