IPL 2022 has officially ended, and it was an exciting season, primarily because it happened back home after two years of IPL held in Dubai due to the critical situations created in the nation by the Pandemic. Two new squads, were added, making a total of ten teams. The new teams were Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. Both the teams played exceptionally and were even qualified for the playoffs. LSG didn’t make it to the finals, but GT did and won.
Gujarat Titans played the finals of Tata IPL 2022 against Rajasthan Royals and defeated them to win the IPL trophy. It was a significant win for the team as they won the finals in their first season itself. Hardik Pandya proved his captaincy skill after he departed from Mumbai Indians and joined Titans as a captain.

Gujarat Titan’s victory also created a new record for India, as Ashish Nehra became the first Indian Head Coach to win an IPL trophy ever. Nehra, was appointed as the Head Coach for the upcoming team before IPL 2022. He had played an IPL season and won the trophy. Ashish Nehra was in the playing squad of Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by David Warner then, and won the finals by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore.
It is infrequent that an IPL player has become a Head Coach for an IPL team. Nehra, Ricky Ponting, and Shane Warne are the only ones to have played and coached an IPL team as Head Coach. He now created history after becoming the first Indian Coach to lead a winning team in IPL 2022
