Wanindu Hasaranga Excited For IPL 2021 Stint After Signing With RCB

Wanindu Hasaranga, a Sri Lankan leg-spinner, was overjoyed to sign a deal with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and will play for them in the IPL 2021 second leg. He takes the place of Australian cricketer Adam Zampa, who is unable to go to the UAE.

Following his signing, the 24-year-old expressed his delight at joining RCB on Instagram. After watching the club play in the IPL from the comfort of his own home, he now has the opportunity to play for the franchise.

“From sitting at home and watching them, to being a part of an amazing team. I am excited, honored, and thrilled all at once,” captioned Hasaranga.

He’ll team up with Yuzvendra Chahal to form a formidable spin attack for Bangalore. Hasaranga is also a competent batsman, having batted at No. 5 for Sri Lanka during their away tour of England in June.

Tim David and Hasaranga’s colleague Dushmantha Chameera were both signed by RCB to replace Daniel Sams and Finn Allen, respectively. Following the departure of Australian players due to mental exhaustion, the RCB team received a much-needed boost with their inclusion.

The good form of Wanindu Hasaranga bodes well for RCB.

Wanindu Hasaranga was extremely brilliant with the ball against India lately. On tracks with a fair amount of spin, he was nearly unplayable. The leggie was difficult to read for the Indian batters, as he took seven wickets in the T20I series.

In the third T20I, he had his best T20I statistics of 4/9, which helped Sri Lanka win the series. He was also a capable batsman, scoring over 100 runs throughout the course of the white-ball leg of the trip. Along with Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson, and AB de Villiers, he is the most probable foreign player to make the team.

Given that the event will be place in the UAE, where the pitch would aid spinners, Hasaranga may have a significant influence on the Bangalore franchise.
