IPL 2021: The Ultimate Goal Is To Win The Trophy – Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, stated that winning the team’s first title is their “ultimate ambition.” He did emphasise, though, that the team’s sole attention will be on the process. The same techniques that let Rishabh Pant lead Delhi to the top of the table with six wins and two losses in the first half of the season.

Despite Shreyas Iyer’s comeback to the side, the wicketkeeper has been retained as captain for the duration of the season. Because Iyer was out for the first half of the season owing to a shoulder injury, Rishabh Pant was named captain. However, the owners and management have decided to keep him because of his leadership abilities.

“Obviously, the ultimate goal is to win the trophy, but as I said before also, we are going to focus on the process and hopefully, we can do the same things again and again which we did in the first phase of the IPL and hopefully we can win this trophy this year,” Rishabh Pant said ahead of the resumption of the tournament in the UAE.

Rishabh Pant delivered the interview after being released from a six-day quarantine imposed after his arrival in Manchester, where the fifth India-England Test was postponed.

M Siddharth and Chris Woakes have been replaced by Kulwant Khejroliya and Ben Dwarshuis, respectively, for the Capitals.

“I am feeling very good especially after coming out of the quarantine, it’s nice because you know nowadays, it’s getting difficult to quarantine, but it’s good to see new faces love to meet the teammates. In quarantine, I was just trying to sit outside on the balcony and all those things but coming for practice for the first day, yes, it’s pretty hot out there. But yes, just getting used to the conditions. Hopefully, I can do it in two three days,” the 23-year-old added.

On September 22, the Capitals will continue their season in Dubai against the bottom-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad.
