Kolkata Knight Riders chief coach David Hussey expressed his expectations from numerous squad players, including captain Eoin Morgan, as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 enters its second phase in the UAE. Morgan is expected to lead from the front and put up some major performances, according to Hussey. “He is the captain,” Hussey stated during a pre-season interview with kkr.in. He’ll take the initiative and lead from the front. He’ll have to put in some big performances for us. Being in the middle order, he is undoubtedly in the most difficult position to play in. So, when you come in, you’re either in big difficulty or you’ve got three or four balls to go after your top order is through.”
Hussey also wants Morgan to be in charge of the squad’s leadership. KKR are currently in seventh place in the IPL 2021 points standings, having won two of their seven games thus far.
“From a captaincy standpoint, he must also lead on the field. Correct the field, take wickets, and take a few chances. Hopefully, you’ll be able to enjoy a fun game of cricket “Hussey continued.
In terms of Morgan’s individual performances, the KKR skipper has had a difficult time. The England batsman has only 92 runs at a dismal average of 15.33 in seven appearances.
“Knowing Eoin, he’d be dissatisfied with the previous seven games. He’ll be well-prepared, and I expect him to dominate the final seven games. Not only with the bat, but also as a captain,” he stated.
On September 20, KKR will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
