British Parliament Felicitates BCCI President Sourav Ganguly

India and England are playing their ODI series, but in between these games, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had a memorable day in England. The British Government Felicitated the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly in their Parliament on Wednesday. It was an honorable day for Dada, and it was significant.

The former Indian captain was approached by the British Government six months back, and he was felicitated as a Bengali. The day of felicitation also marks the 20-year anniversary of India defeating England in their own country. “I was felicitated by the British Parliament as a Bengali so it was nice. It was in the Parliament. They contacted me six months ago. They do this award every year, and I got it.” Ganguly stated in an exclusive interview with ANI.

Ganguly also talked about the anniversary, where he led India into the Natwest final. “Oh! Yeah, I saw that on Instagram. It has been a long time, isn’t it? 20 years ago. Yeah, great moments in sport beating England in England is nothing better than that. The current team is doing it. They won the T20 series. They are one up in the One Day series.”

Sourav Ganguly also talked about the incredible performance of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami in the first ODI. “That is what England has always been. There will always be help for the bowlers. I thought Bumrah and Shami were outstanding in the first spell and that just took the game away from England. India batted well to win with 10 wickets. 110 runs shows how well they batted on this pitch. It has been very good so far.”
