Former Australian keeper Adam Gilchrist talked about how both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik should be kept in India’s playing 11. India is presently playing in a three-match T20I series against Australia. India’s two best wicket-keeper batsmen are Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik.
The Indian selectors have picked both Rishabh and Dinesh for India’s squad against Australia and the upcoming T20 World Cup in October. The team is in splits for who to pick for the final playing squad with both being wicket-keepers and batting in the same position. Karthik made his comeback to the Indian team after his excellent performance. Pant also delivered an on-par batting.

Adam Gilchrist gave his opinion on both the players. He talked about Pant’s hitting abilities and better risk-taking. “The dare of Rishabh Pant an the courage for him, the way in which he takes on bowling attacks. I think he’s got to be a must in that Indian line-up. They can play together, but I think Rishabh Pant has definitely got to be in there.” He was quoted by ICC.
Pant’s performance isn’t as good compared to his performance in ODI and Test matches. His risk of taking big shots sometimes backfires. Due to his batting position his ability to take risk do come in handy. He talked about Dinesh Karthik and his experience of having the longest international career in cricket.
“It’ll be interesting to see if they can both play in the same team. I think they can. What they bring to a team the versatility of Dinesh Karthik, he can play at the top of the order, he can, as he has done more so later in his career, be in the middle and late overs to finish. He has a really nice touch game,” Gilchrist added.
