BCCI Mulls New Three-Season Contract for Professional Players of State Associations: BCCI is thinking about the idea of introducing a new system. Hereby, the state associations will have to sign up for three seasons. At current, the state units sign the players for one or two seasons only. The following idea was discussed in the Apex Council meeting of BCCI which was held on Thursday. It was further told that this was because they felt that certain associations aren’t properly dumping professionals and doing it as per their will.
The meeting further discussed two annual-emerging tours, U-16 one-day trophy for girls. It said that BCCI will ensure two tours of emerging teams are annually organised for women’s cricketers. A source told to TOI, “Like it happened in the case of men’s cricket, this will help us build solid bench strength for women’s cricket in India.”

The meeting further discussed a new software to detect age fraud. BCCI has always been strict about age fraud and has a zero-tolerance policy for it. Currently, the TW3 method is used to detect age fraud and BCCI is planning to install BoneXpert for it to save around 80% of the cost that is used for the current method. The current method uses Rs 2400 per bone test and the new method would require Rs 288 for the same. The method is based on an X-ray of the left hand and wrist for age determination.
