Currently, the state players are fighting for the very famous Ranji Trophy. Presently Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh are fighting in the finals to win the Trophy at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Many have raised questions about why there isn’t any Digital Review System for the leading Cricket tournament in the country.

People have been taunted if the BCCI has a lack of money for their cost statement, amidst the 48,000 crore deal for the next five years of the Indian Premier League. Mumbai had tasted the boon of not having a DRS, as batsman Sarfaraz Khan was allowed to bat despite a close call for LBW. Fans were enraged and faulted the BCCI for such awful treatment of the prominent tournament. Ranji has been played since the 1930s and is the oldest national tournament in India.

BCCI has used DRS for the last year’s Ranji games but it missed the main components such as hawk-eye or UltraEdge. This year there is no DRS at all. When questioned the BCCI said, “We believe in our umpires,” they further added, “It’s an expensive exercise to use DRS. The cost shoots up. How does it matter if there’s no DRS in the final. It’s time we trusted the umpires. India’s two best umpires are officiating in this game. And what’s the end result? If you use it in the final, you will want to introduce it in the league stage of the Ranji Trophy too.”

BCCI Lacks Money for DRS in Ranji Trophy Finals!

Considering the BCCI neglects the need for the greatest tournament, from which young players are selected for the National team. They require the DRS in every IPL match despite having trust in their umpires.
