BCCI Announces Indian Women’s Squad for Sri Lanka Tour, Harmanpreet Kaur to be the Captain -

The Board of Control of Cricket announced the Tour of Sri Lanka as Women’s T20I to be held. On 8th June, the BCCI officially announced the squad list. India and Sri Lanka will play two formats of cricket, three T20 Internationals, and three One Day Internationals in Dambulla and Kandy. The first three games of T20I will be on 23rd June, 25th June, and 27th June. The ODI will be on 1st July, 4th July, and 7th July.

Recently former captain of the Indian Women’s team Mithali Raj announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket. She was the longest-ever female captain for India from 2005 to 2022. She has plenty of records across all formats in both men and women cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur is officially taking the place of Mithali Raj and will serve as the skipper of the Indian Women’s Senior team. Smriti Mandhana is the vice-captain for the Sri Lanka tour.

“The All-India Women’s Selection Committee met on Wednesday to pick the squads for India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. India will play three T20Is and as many ODIs in Dambulla and Kandy respectively,” BCCI officially stated.
