India played their second game after getting selected in the super 4 on 29th May. The match was played at GBK Sports Complex Hockey Stadium in Jakarta. It was a tie between both the teams playing to become the Asia Cup Hockey 2022 champion. Both the teams played against each other for the first time in the tournament. India defeated Japan in the previous game, whereas Malaysia played against South Korea, ending in a draw.

It was an excellent performance by both the teams, especially the Malaysian players. Razie Rahim from the Malaysian team took the penalty in the twelfth minute and scored the first goal of the game. Rahim was unstoppable and secured another goal in the twenty-first minute, making it 0-2. Malaysia tried to take on another goal, but Karkera stopped it from happening. India made no score till the third quarter. Vishnukant Singh scored the first goal in the thirty-first minute. It was a good goal against Hafizuddin Othman and SV Sunil also scored the second goal in fifty-second minutes, equalling the score by 2-2.Â

India almost won the game after Nilam Sanjeep Xess scored the third goal in the fifty-fourth minute, leading the score by 3-2. Razie Rahim emerged from nowhere and equaled the score in the fifty-sixth minute, saving Malaysia from a defeat. Razie scored a hattrick, and Pawan Rajbhar was named the man of the match.
