Virat Kohli is close to achieving a significant feat in the history of Indian cricket. He is just a match away from being the first Indian to play a hundred games in all three formats of cricket. India is prepared for its Asia Cup 2022 opening match against Pakistan. Virat Kohli will make a comeback in T20I after a month-long break.
The opening match for India is crucial in plenty of ways. First off, it’s the most anticipated match of the year between India and Pakistan. Secondly, for Virat Kohli, it will be his 100th T20I game. If Kohli plays this game, he will create a new record by being the only player in the history of Indian cricket to play 100 games in every format of cricket.
Till now, Virat Kohli has played 99 T20I games. He ranks third in the highest run scored in T20I matches, behind Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill. The former captain has made 3,308 runs with an average of 50.12 runs and the best score of 94 runs. Kohli scored 30 half-centuries in T20I. Virat was the T20 captain from 2017 to 2021, where he led India in 50 games, out of which India won 30 and lost 16.

India will face Pakistan after a year. The last time both the countries played was in the T20 World Cup, where Pakistan defeated India terribly. Kohli was the captain and scored 57 runs giving Pakistan a target of 151 runs. Pakistani opener Mohammed Rizwan and captain Babar Azam were enough to chase the runs and scored 79 and 68 runs. India lost the game by 10 wickets.
Virat Kohli will garner everyone’s attention in the Asia Cup with India’s first game with Pakistan. He will be back on the ground after a month. Kohli last played against England, where he failed to perform. He was rested for the next tour of India.
