Always Looked Up To You- Serena Williams to Roger Federer on Retirement

Tennis icon Roger Federer officially announced his retirement post on Thursday. Female tennis icon Serena Williams wished him on her social media. Federer is a 20-time Grand Slam-winning champion. He has the most titles than any other person in the history of Tennis. Roger penned down a heartfelt goodbye to the sport on his Instagram.

The 41-year-old will retire after playing the Laver Cup in London, next week. It will be his last tournament internationally and will officially retire from the sport. Serena Williams posted a picture to honor the tennis legend and to welcome him to retirement. Williams also earlier announced her retirement from tennis.

“I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest– perfectly done, just like your career,” Serena Williams wrote on her Instagram post.

“I have always looked up to you and admired you. Our Paths were always so similar, so much the same. You inspired countless millions and millions of people– including me– and we will never forget.”

William was ecstatic as she welcomed Roger Federer into the retirement club. It was a complete of her career as she stated in the post. “I applaud you and look forward to all that you do in the future. Welcome to the retirement club. And thank you for being you @rogerfederer.”
