Jay Shah is the son of the Indian Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah. He hasn’t always been into cricket and sports politics. Shah was born on 28th September 1988. He pursued B. Tech and completed it from Nirma University. Shah has had a keen interest in cricket from his early days. He was also enrolled in cricket training in Ahmedabad, practicing under Gujarat’s team coach Jayendra Sehgal. Jay Shah dreamed of becoming a well-known cricketer when he was young.

Shah completed his graduation in 2003 and entered his family business. His first job was nowhere close to cricket sports. He became a stockbroker before joining anything related to sports. Shah’s first business was a trading company called Temple Enterprises which he started in 2004. He also owns a 60% share in Kumsum Finserve, a stock trading and marketing consultancy company.

Jay Shah married his better half Rishita Patel in February 2015. Both met at college and have been together since. Rishita is the daughter of Gunwant Patel, a known construction builder. The wedding was very lavish, and many prominent people attended the wedding, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jay Shah’s first job was as a stockbroker, and started his own business. Now Jay Shah has made a name for himself in the cricket industry. His administrative role in cricket started more than a decade ago in 2009. He served as an executive board member of the Central Cricket Board in Ahmedabad. Shah joined Gujarat Cricket Association in 2013 and became a joint secretary.

Jay Shah became a part of BCCI and joined as a member of the finance and marketing committees in 2015. He was a part of the BCCI, but in September 2019, he achieved a feat. Jay Shah became the youngest office bearer on the board. He rose in rankings and became the President of the Asian Cricket Council in January 2021, becoming the youngest to hold the ACC position.
