Pro Kabaddi

Due of the COVID-19 epidemic, the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will begin on December 22 in Bengaluru without spectators. The season’s Player Auctions were held in Mumbai from August 29 to 31. The event’s organisers, Mashal Sports, claimed that in order to ensure the health and safety of the players and all stakeholders, the league will be contested without spectators at a single venue in Bengaluru this year, rather than the customary caravan format.

“Bengaluru has all the facilities for the conduct of huge competitive sports events with top safety measures, and we look forward to showcasing this with PKL Season 8,” said Anupam Goswami, CEO, Mashal Sports and League Commissioner VIVO PL.

Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, welcomed the league to the state.

“Kabaddi is a genuine indigenous sport of India and very popular in Karnataka. We welcome and support the conduct of forthcoming Pro Kabaddi Season 8 in our state,” Bommai said in a statement.

The league will also adopt processes to comply with government regulations and norms, as well as collaborate with specialised safety authorities to implement severe safety practises and build a bio-secure bubble, according to the organisers.
