IPL 2021: Kevin Pietersen Feels AB De Villiers Must Be Hating “That He Hasnt Been Able To Contribute” In UAE

In his four appearances for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season’s UAE leg, AB de Villiers has only achieved scores of 0, 11, 14 and 4*. (RCB). RCB have found runs from the likes of Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Glenn Maxwell to preserve their place in third place in the IPL 2021 Points Table despite his abrupt loss of form. Due to his prior triumphs with RCB, former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen believes De Villiers will not lose his position in the starting XI even if he gets three ducks in a row. However, Pietersen believes De Villiers must be frustrated by his poor form.

After RCB’s triumph over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday, Pietersen said on Star Sports, “He is a seasoned player, a seasoned veteran. He doesn’t want Kohli or Maxwell to score as many runs as he is. ‘I’m not keeping my end of the agreement,’ he must be thinking. AB de Villiers isn’t the AB de Villiers he’s used to seeing “..

“He is a proud player; he is a fabulous player. We have seen that over a number of years. From his point of view, he would like to contribute. He would be hating the fact that he hasn’t been able to contribute. He has contributed so much to the world of cricket and in the IPL. If he gets three ducks in a row, it doesn’t matter. What he has done for the IPL and RCB is incredible. However, he would want to score”, he further added.

In 180 IPL outings, the South African veteran has amassed 5083 runs, including three centuries and 40 fifties.

The swashbuckling batsman has hit 234 runs in 11 games this season, with a best score of 76*.
