Suhana Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, is reportedly ready to make her Bollywood debut. In the Indian adaptation of the renowned comic book Archie, Zoya Akhtar will play the star youngster.
“While casting is still underway, she has found one of her central characters in Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana. While Suhana has done a couple of short films before, Archie would mark her official foray into the world of show-biz. It’s in the nascent stage at the moment, and the final paperwork will be done once Suhana and her father, Shah Rukh Khan okay the bound script for launch,” a source told Pinkvilla.
Suhana is now enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2020, she made her acting debut in Theodore Gimeno’s short film The Grey Part of Blue.
Suhana, who frequently reveals peeks of her life in the United States, recently spoke out against colorism and being bullied because of her skin colour.
She claimed in September of last year that she has been told she is “ugly” because of her skin tone since she was 12 years old. She posted screenshots of many nasty remarks she’d gotten, including being referred to as a “black witch” and being branded “ugly”.
In an emotional post, she wrote: “Other than the fact that these are actual adults, what’s sad is that we are all Indian, which automatically makes us brown – yes we come in different shades but no matter how much you try to distance yourself from the melanin, you just can’t. Hating on your own people just means that you are painfully insecure. I’m sorry if social media, Indian matchmaking or even your own families have convinced you, that if you’re not 5″7 and fair you’re not beautiful. I hope it helps to know that I’m 5″3 and brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too.”
