Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Arjun Kapoor to star in ‘Kuttey’

Vishal Bhardwaj’s multi-starrer Kuttey, starring Arjun Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, and Radhika Madan, was revealed on Monday.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s son, Aasmaan Bhardwaj, will helm the film, which will be produced in cooperation with filmmaker Luv Ranjan.

Kuttey also features Eeb Allay Ooo’s Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj. The film’s announcement teaser was posted on Vishal Bhardwaj Films’ official Instagram page.

“They don’t bark, and they don’t growl. They only bark “The director, who has directed critically acclaimed films such as Maqbool, Omkara, and Kaminey, penned the script. Kuttey, written by Aasmaan and Vishal Bhardwaj, is described as a caper-thriller. The film is presently under pre-production, with shooting set to begin in late 2021.

Aasmaan holds a bachelor’s degree in filmmaking from the School Of Visual Arts in New York City, and has worked with his father on films such as 7 Khoon Maaf, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, and Pataakha. Kuttey is “very special,” according to Vishal Bhardwaj, because it is his first collaboration with his son.

“I’m excited to see what he does with it. Luv Films and Vishal Bhardwaj Films are also coming together for the first time and I am immensely excited about this association, as I really admire Luv’s brave attitude towards filmmaking and strong commercial sense.

“I have worked with Naseer Sahab, Tabu, Konkona and Radhika on different films throughout my career and Aasmaan has brought them all together in one film itself. We cannot wait for the audience to witness this captivating thriller on the big screen, he said.

Bhardwaj’s storytelling concept has been “extremely inspirational” to Rajan, he added. It makes me really happy that I will be working with him on Aasmaan’s film.

Vishal Bhardwaj will compose the music for the film, with Gulzar penning the lyrics.

Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series will be presenting Kuttey. The film’s producers include Vishal Bhardwaj’s wife, singer Rekha Bhardwaj, and Ankur Garg.

The film would be Vishal Bhardwaj’s debut collaboration with Kapoor, whose most recent movie was Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. Madan in the 2018 drama Pataakha, Shah in the critically acclaimed Maqbool in 2003, and Sen Sharma in Omkara are among the filmmaker’s earlier credits (2006).

In addition, he has worked with Tabu on films like as Maqbool and Haider.
