Neeraj Chopra will be back in action after a long break in the Lausanne Diamond League, Switzerland. The League will begin on 26th August at the La Pontaise Olympic Stadium. Chopra was the last present in the World Athletics Championship in the United States of America. He won the silver medal, missing the gold by a slight margin. If he’d won the gold, Chopra would’ve become the first athlete to get the gold after Olympics gold medals.
Neeraj Chopra announced his participation in the Lausanne Diamond League. He tweeted an image with the caption, “Feeling strong and ready for Friday. Thanks for the support, everyone. See you in Lausanne! @athletissima,” The Diamond League will end with the top six finalists. The finals will be in Zurich on 6th and 7th September.
Neeraj Chopra currently ranks fourth after his silver in the Stockholm Diamond League. The upcoming games will decide his fixture for the Diamond League finals. It will be a major league after a long break since the World Championships. He suffered a groin injury during his final throw. Due to the injury, Chopra also missed the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
Neeraj Chopra is in Saarbrucken, Germany with his coach Dr. Klaus Bartonietz and physiotherapist Ishaan Marwaha. He won the Diamond League with the second leading medal in the Diamond League after four years. Chopra broke the national record in the throw of 89.94 meters. He lost the gold medal to present World Champion Anderson Peters.
